Westbrook Harbor is a fantasy RP set in a modern day city called Westbrook. Fictional characters started slipping through into the real world about 6 years ago, and for some reason, the highest concentration is in Westbrook. A secret government agency called META (Mystical Engagement Task Agency) was started to monitor and control the fictional characters, or "fictives".

Character profiles are recommended, but not required. There may be more than one version of each character, and there are no character requests or reservations. Because most fictional characters have several versions or books in a series, we could feasibly have a number of versions of one character from different books or timelines.

In Westbrook, you can choose to play from several groups:

The Fictives
Fictives are literary characters who suddenly entered reality. They have no knowledge of how they got out of their stories and into reality, and many of them came from very different time periods. You can choose to be any literary character you desire, and multiple versions of the same character are okay since there are many different media versions of characters (but you might want to pick something less common). If fictives had powers or magic in their stories, it is very weak or absent after actualizing in the real world. The fictives gather at the Szechaun Jade Dragon restaurant, and there are groups of fictives who have begun to organize to find other fictives in Westbrook and elsewhere, as well as trying to find out how they originated in reality.

META
META is much like the Men in Black for fictitional characters instead of aliens. They are not completely enemies of fictives, and the agents have a range of opinions on how the fictives should be dealt with. They are also investigating how fictives are becoming real, and as META is a fairly new agency, they are still trying to decide what to do with the ones that have already actualized.

Other
There are other real people who have discovered the secret of the fictives and are taking sides on whether they should be controlled or helped. This can include just about any type of person and occupation you can imagine.
